Terms of Project
- Before any work is undertaken, a consultation is done first to determine what is required and what information can be supplied.
- This is then written up and confirmed in writing what my understanding is of the information supplied and the end goals of the project.
- This is then signed off by both parties, to provide a written agreement of the end result.
- It is the responsibility of the client to provide details of any research already completed to avoid any duplication of work.
- The report and research will be fully reported on, whether successful or unsuccessful, I will provide all information pertaining avenues of research that have been explored.
- Paid time includes, research, analysis, report writing, communication with the client and 3rd parties.
- In cases where a Package has been purchased and it becomes clear early on that the research has hit a familial brick wall, I will discuss with the client how they wish to proceed., this could be either further research done into a particular family member, family group or if preferred a partial refund. Depending on how far the project is and time spent before coming to this conclusion.
General Points
- If I believe that the likelihood of success is very low I reserve the right to decline taking on a project for e.g. If the starting point of the project and the only information that I have is "He was called John Smith born in London in the 1890's' then the likelihood of finding the correct relative is extremely low.
Likelihood of Success
- All clients should be made aware that sometimes it isn't possible to trace a family as far back as expected or find the information required from archival documents. Time spent also includes searching archives and document with an unsuccessful outcome. However research can also be considered positive if directions have been ruled out.
Copies of Documents
- Digital copies of documents can be supplied throughout all Projects however if physical copies of documents are requested these will be charged at cost price.
Payment Terms and Methods
I accept the following forms of Payment
- Cheque (UK only cheques to be made payable to Mr Clive Green)
- Cash (UK only)
- Bank Transfer (Any fees to be paid by the client)
- Credit or Debit Card
For all work commissioned
- A 50% deposit is required in advance of any research to be carried out, this will secure your research slot.
- Once work has been completed the 50% remaining balance is to be paid BEFORE the final work is sent out to the client.
Once a package or program of work has been mutually decided and agreed, and you have chosen your method of payment an invoice will be sent out to you.
Once the invoice for the work to be carried out has been sent to you, payment will be required within 30 days. If the payment isn't received in this time the original estimate on the length of time the project will take to complete may change.
Timescales of Package Projects
I estimate that the timescale for completion of a Package are as follows
- Basic Package - 1 to 2 weeks
- Standard Package - 2 to 4 weeks
- Premium Package - 4 to 8 weeks
- Platinum Package - 8 to 12 weeks
